From Deacon John and Karen Bartos
Last week, Saturday-Wednesday, our parish celebrated Awaken Our Hearts, Parish Mission with Vince Ambrosetti. We have been part of many missions through the years here at St. Pat’s and without a doubt, this was one of the very best experiences we have ever had. We were very touched by the prayers, the music and the stories that Vince presented. But, we also witnessed the best of our parish – working together as stewards in service to Jesus Christ. From our pastor, Fr. Mike, to our youngest member and everyone in between, how we worked together with a sense of commitment, joy and love to make each night a memorable experience that we will all hold very dear to our hearts forever!
For us, stewardship is all about discipleship. It is about putting God first in all things. Stewardship is about recognizing that all we have and all that we are is a gift from God. In our gratitude we are thankful to God and to one another.
We have been so blessed over the past two decades to meet so many people that have helped us follow in the footsteps of Jesus by their example of discipleship. We have made friends that will be with us for a lifetime. And, we look forward to the opportunities that God will grant us to serve in the future.
~Romans 12:1 “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, your spiritual worship.”
