What a wonderful thing it would be to have a crystal ball that we could foresee the future. I often think about what our parish will be like 50 years from now! What will it look like? What will the next generation of parishioners be doing to carry on our Catholic faith? Although, I do not have a crystal ball, I did receive many answers to this question about our church’s future at Confirmation rehearsal on Monday evening.
I truly believe that our future looks bright and full of promise. The young people of this year’s Confirmation class are an outstanding group. They have faced many unforeseen obstacles this year and still have kept the faith and enthusiasm.
We have a great responsibility as stewards of Christ’s Church to do everything we can to encourage young people to stay engaged in the life of their parish. May we be the first to recognize their accomplishments and be the first to help them in their time of need. We are so blessed to have such great young men, women and families who love Jesus and their parish.
Love,
Deacon John
