We should take God’s message of love and stewardship out into our communities and do what we are called to do by God.

My name is Daniel Yoder. I attend church every Sunday with my Grandfather, Patrick Yoder. When I was asked to write about stewardship and ministry, I didn’t have to look far to find evidence of that in my family. Ministry and service are closely related and I’ve learned how much my family has served others as well as our country. My Grandfather served in the Army. His father served in the Navy, and my grandmother’s father served in the Air Force. It doesn’t end there, there are so many more examples of great sacrifice and military service in my family and I am proud to be related to them. Their lives remind me that giving myself for the betterment of others is important and should be a priority in my life. My grandfather and I believe that these things should not be forgotten and should be remembered through service and ministry to others. My belief in the Lord has led me to look beyond myself and into my community. I’ve learned that not only should we attend Holy Mass and listen to the Word of God, but also we should take his message of love and stewardship out into our communities and do what we are called to do by God.
