The people of St. Pat’s were bent, but never broken.

It has been one year since the outbreak of the global COVID-19 pandemic. Over the past year we have faced many challenges and hardships including the separation from our church and families. Many of our young people have also suffered due to no in-person schooling, sports activities cancelled, and the feeling of anxiety caused by a clouded future. The new year brought us a renewed feeling of hope only to bear the pain of the church fire.

Through all these challenges and setbacks, we the people of St. Patrick Parish were bent but never broken. We remain a vibrant parish, a people who have remained united in Christ. Under Fr. Mike’s leadership we just refused to stop answering God’s call to feed the hungry, minister to the sick and dying, catechize our adults and children, and most importantly, celebrate holy Mass.

To the people of St. Patrick, stewardship is much more than a word in the dictionary or an idea. It is the way we have chosen to live our lives in the service of God. We will continue to find hope in these words of Jesus, “With God all things are possible.”  (Mt 19:26).

May we continue to stand united, as one in Christ and look forward to the joyous day when the doors to our beautiful St. Patrick Church are open once again. What an amazing day that will be!

Love, Deacon John
