Stewardship is not just about money – and here is a new thought: the stewardship of love might be the greatest of our stewardship responsibilities! Yes, love! When Jesus was asked which was the greatest commandment in the law, Jesus answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” And then he added, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Mt. 22:37-39). What was Jesus telling us? Stewardship flows out of our hearts that are seeking to love God and to love others.
Karen and I have been members of St. Patrick Parish for many years. We have had the privilege to serve our parish in many different capacities. What a joy and blessing that has been to us. We have witnessed the good people of our parish giving their love away freely in service to Jesus Christ. You truly are lovers. In the good times and in the not so good times, love is the glue that holds us together and that love is the love of Jesus Christ and our love for each other.
May we continue to walk in the footsteps of Christ as we continue to be stewards of Christ’s amazing love. We truly are an amazing and vibrant parish.
Love,
Deacon John
