It is always inspiring to me to witness just how intergenerational the great stewards of our parish really are and how our shared love for Jesus Christ bridges all our age differences.

Fish Fry Drive-thru

Once again, I am happy to announce that the last fish fry of the year was a huge success. We served nearly 600 dinners. The youngest volunteer was 8 years old; the eldest in their late eighties. It is always inspiring to me to witness just how intergenerational the great stewards of our parish really are and how our shared love for Jesus Christ bridges all our age differences.

On October 24th from noon until 6:00 PM we will be hosting our “HARVEST FALL RIB FEST.” We will feature a great menu which includes green beans, red skin potatoes, coleslaw and a delicious ½ slab of ribs. The Rib Fest will be drive-thru only. The service will be fast and efficient with two drive thru lines. 100 % of the proceeds of this fundraiser will help to cover the cost of the following projects:

  • Roof and masonry repairs on the Parish Center
  • Automatic door openers on the portico and elevator entry

The roof on the Parish Center is leaking and the brick on the west wall needs re-pointing. The door openings are part of our parish plan to make our parish more welcoming to those who face a handicap of any kind. Thanks to the generosity of our parishioners these projects will begin soon. The cost of these two projects is approximately $30,000.00.

I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to come to the Harvest Rib Fest. We will also be thankful to any parishioners that might be called to make a monetary contribution to help offset the cost of the ribs which is approximately $2,500.00. All are welcome to come and volunteer Saturday, Oct. 24, from noon to 6:00 pm. Under Fr. Mike’s leadership and by the grace of God, we have accomplished many great things even in the most challenging of times. May we continue to thank God first for making our parish an instrument of His love.
God bless you,
Deacon John
