Stewardship is living a life of gratitude. I will be forever grateful for God’s gifts to me.
Looking back on my 90 plus years, clearly His hand has guided me over and over again. When my children were still in high school and college, the father of my eight children passed away. God, knowing what I would be facing had prepared me.
His guidance had led me back to college for the qualifying requirements needed so that I could pursue the profession I loved and care for and educate my children.
One way I have expressed my gratitude has been through service in many ministries at St. Patrick, my church for more than 80 years. Among those ministries was more than 30 years as a lector.
Each night before my eyes close in sleep, I recall how abundantly God has provided for me and ask Him to make me worthy of his love, to open my eyes to the needs of others and to help me act on those needs.
Now in my advanced years, mostly but not totally retired, my gratitude remains unending. I will be forever grateful for God’s gifts to me.
