My name is Alaina Colella. I am currently 23 years old and am a recent graduate of the class of 2020 from Penn State University. I graduated with an Associates Degree working as a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant for almost a year now. I have been involved at St. Patrick Church since I can remember. I first started as an altar server, then that lead to becoming a Eucharistic Minister distributing the blood and body of our Lord Jesus Christ. As I got older, a junior/senior in high school, I was able to attend Celebrate and become a part of the team. Years after high school I still serve as a Eucharistic Minister and am now an adult advisor coming up on 3 years on the Celebrate team guiding Juniors and Seniors on their spiritual journey. Growing up I can remember attending church every weekend. Sacraments I have received include baptism, reconciliation, first holy communion, and confirmation. I attended CCD up until 8th grade.
I always knew that going to church early every Sunday was important because that’s how my parents raised my brothers and I. Over the years as I have gotten older, God’s presence has been so prevalent and recognized in my every day life. He has been with me through the highs and the lows. I have grown and evolved in many ways, but spiritually I have grown immensely. I am forever grateful for the journey for it has molded me into the young woman I am today. I try to wake up everyday with a grateful heart, knowing that everything that comes my way is from God himself. I trust in him for I don’t know the plans he has for me, but I do know that they are great. I am grateful for our ministry and what it continues to bring to my life and to all of those around me.
