How Our Journey, Embracing a Stewardship Way of Life, Leads Each One of Us To Our Happy Ending

Most of us love a movie, a book or a play that concludes with a happy ending, especially when the characters involved have overcome a great adversity or struggle, and in the end, they find peace and joy.

Our third and fourth grade PSR students made crucifixes out of wooden clothespins. I was invited to bless the crucifixes as each child held them in their hands. It was a very moving experience for me to witness our children lift high the Cross of Jesus Christ.

The Cross is the symbol and story of our Christian faith. During Lent we followed Jesus as he journeyed to Calvary. We paused at each Station of the Cross along the way, to reflect upon his Passion and Death. The story of Calvary was one filled with pain, suffering and humiliation. But, the story ends today with the acclamations of victory and joy! “Christ is risen!  Indeed, He is risen!”

It is our journey of faith and embracing a stewardship way of life that reveals our own personal story and leads each one of us to our happy ending – the promise of eternal life with our Risen Lord, Jesus Christ. Alleluia!

Have a joyous Easter,
Deacon John Bartos
