Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

Hello, my name is John Battisti. I have been blessed to be a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church for 60 years. Being a member has brought many new friendships, opportunities to give and serve my community and enrich my belief and dedication to God.

When Deacon John requested that I write a letter of stewardship, I agreed, but I was nervous; it doesn’t come easy talking about yourself.

I have been blessed to be married to my wife of 52 years, Delores. We were married at the old church by Fr. Ozer. We are also blessed with two children: Gina, who is an Administrator for Individuals with developmental disabilities and John, a Neuroscientist with Indivior, Inc. I am so fortunate to have a loving, supportive and devoted family.

I attend 8:30 am Mass where I serve as an usher and Eucharistic Minister. Outside of my participation during Mass, I am active with the annual St. Patrick’s festival, a faithful 14 year member of the St. Vincent De Paul Society and St. Patrick’s Church Food Pantry.  I have helped with a few construction projects over the years. I find helping others in my community to be humbling.

I am blessed and try to give every day. It is an honor and a privilege to be an active steward of St. Patrick Church. We can all be good stewards of our church; giving of our time can be the most humbling and rewarding experience.

I will end with this quote, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10.

May God bless you with good health and guidance.

Your brother in Christ,
John
