As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace. 1 Peter 4:10
We are the Wells family: Kirk, Therese and Rodney. We have been members here at St. Patrick’s since we were married here 28 years ago. We love our parish. We prayed that we would have children and after 7 years, God blessed us with our son Rodney.
We were so happy, we always made sure God was the center of life. When our son, Rodney, was old enough, we made sure Rodney was enrolled in CCD classes. As a mom, I wanted to be there when he learned more about God. So, I volunteered as an aide, when Rodney was in Kindergarten. I helped out each year and when the 1st grade teacher retired, I took over teaching. I am still teaching 1st grade.
As a family, we enjoyed going to church together. We wanted more out of our Church community. We asked ourselves, how could we become good stewards for God?
We all needed to find a way to be there for our Church community. Through our friends, we have found many ways we can be there for our church family.
As parents, we could make the choice to attend the Men’s and Women’s Renewal weekend. We both did and we were so moved by the weekends that we wanted to serve God in all we do.
We were asked to help as Adult Advisers for Celebrate, with the High School students. Being involved in Celebrate has helped us to be there for anyone that needs us in their faith journey. Spending time with all of the young adults is such a blessing from God.
When Rodney was old enough, we could all be together involved in Celebrate. This is something we will cherish as a family. We are always happy when we can do things together. We continue to look for more ways we can serve.
Being stewards for our church as a family has helped us to have a real connection to our faith family here at St. Patrick’s. God has blessed us so much! We look forward to continuing to grow with the love of God in our hearts!
Love,
Kirk, Therese and Rodney Wells
