An Invitation…

Our time is one of the most precious gifts that God gives us. When we offer some of that time back to God and his Church, we become blessed in a multitude of ways. Our parish offers all its parishioners many opportunities to become involved in the life of the parish. We are so blessed to have so many new families joining our parish almost every week. It is so exciting watching our parish, the Body of Christ, grow.

I would also like to extend an invitation to you to find a ministry that you feel God is calling you to, regardless of your age or the years you have been a member of our parish. “All are welcome” to join a ministry or to become involved in any of our many social events. I encourage you to share your time and talent with your brothers and sisters in Christ. God has given each of us a special gift and the gift he has given, we have been given to share.

In a very special way, I would like to challenge and invite our young adults, college students and young families to become involved. So many times, you have heard it said that you are the future of the parish. But I believe in this time of church history, that your leadership, insight, and spirituality is needed more than ever. It is so uplifting for me to look out into the congregation and see so many young adults who cherish their Catholic faith. The time for you to lead is now!

Many years ago, when I was a young man with a wife and two little boys, I was asked to give some of my time to the church. My first response was “NO!” because I believed I did not have any time to spare. I had a family, a job and numerous other obligations…. I was just too busy. Through a dear friend I was encouraged to give a little of my time back to God and it was the best decision of my life. The time that I have given to God has blessed me a thousand-fold.

Feel free to call me any time to discuss your calling to serve or to answer any questions that you may have.

Love,
Deacon John
