Actions speak louder than words. By following Christ’s lead, this simple statement can make such a positive impact on our neighbors and it is the foundation of living a life of stewardship. Everyday, we have numerous opportunities to bring God’s love and fellowship to others through simple acts of kindness. It doesn’t matter how old or young we are or what our abilities are; each one of us is called not only to be Jesus to others, but to see Jesus in others as well.
On April 24th, members of Shine joined residents of Elmwood Assisted Living to play Spring Bingo. All in attendance had a great time and many residents commented that they were “so happy the kids were there.” Everyone’s smiles filled the room with joy. These children are shining examples of Christ’s love and they are truly a blessing to all of us.
The beautiful words of St. Teresa of Avila send a resounding message of living a life of stewardship.
“Christ has no body but yours,
No hands, no feet on earth but yours,
Yours are the eyes with which He looks
Compassion on this world,
Yours are the feet with which He walks to do good,
Yours are the hands with which He blesses all the world.
Yours are the hands, yours are the feet,
Yours are the eyes, you are His body…”
