Lectors proclaim the Word of God at Mass and other prayer celebrations. When the Scriptures are read in Church, God himself is speaking to us, His people. Therefore, the role of the Lector is more than just reading the Word of God. The Lector is to make known the presence of God in the Word so Sacred Scripture is meaningful to the people.
