RELIGION CLASSES - GRADES K-8 (CCD)
The aim of our Religious Education Program for youth is to help children of the Parish grow in their faith. Youth programming is part of the Parish community's total Religious Education Ministry. The task of our parish youth program is to help the individual young person to think and act as Jesus did. It is hoped that as our youth become young adults and enter society, their faith and actions will help bring about a more just world. In order to accomplish this, Parish educators, parents, and youth must work together.
The Christian example and atmosphere of the home play a major role in a child's faith development. It must be understood that parents are the primary educators of their children. Whatever a parent holds important, the child will hold important. Our Religious Education Program for youth is, in effect, a reinforcement or support of the role of the parents. We also recognize that faith development is a life-long process for all Catholics. Therefore, our program tries to teach basic concepts according to the child's maturity and lived experiences, and to update parents in the Church's teachings, especially in regards to the Sacraments.
In addition to catechists, other adults and teenagers serve as classroom aides. Religious education classes provide a forum in which the principles for Christian living and growing in holiness are explained and promoted. Retreat days are also offered for both the First Communion students and their parents, and for the Confirmation class. Adult assistance at the retreats are welcomed and appreciated.

GENERATIONS OF FAITH
Generations of Faith is an inter-generational faith formation process that gathers 2 or 3 times per year for food, fun, learning and prayer held within the context of a 'faith festival'. The festival begins with a prepared meal, moves into an inter-generational activity based on a faith topic/event, and finishes with breakout sessions for family activity centers or age groups. Take-home kits extend the lesson into the home. Childcare is provided for Pre-K children. Our parish dates for the 2 festivals this year are:
Sacraments of Healing: Reconciliation & Anointing
