St. Pat's Youth & Adults Return from Mission
Trip to Anderson, IN
Nine youth and 3 adult campers from St. Patrick Parish (Hubbard) attended Catholic Heartwork Camp in Anderson, In July 15th-20th. The workcamp was one of forty workcamps located throughout the U.S., Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tabago. Approximately 300 campers were lodged at Anderson Elementary School. A staff of adult supervisors and college students worked together to provide the hospitality, meals, witness talks, skits, media, and music. Daily morning and evening worship, Mass, and service work throughout the community filled the days with many opportunities to build new relationships, inspire us through Gospel teachings, and recommit our lives to living out our Catholic faith. |

St. Patrick campers worked all year to raise the funding for the trip. Campers participated in projects like painting; interior and exterior structural repairs, summer day care programs for younger children, work in homeless shelters, and help at local nursing homes.
Catholic Heartwork Camp (CHWC) was originally started by Lisa and Steve Walker in 1993 with one campsite. Since then it has grown to accommodate Jr. High Campers, High School Campers, "Next-level" camps (for grades 10-college), and college, young adult, and adult campsites. CHWC is the perfect opportunity for teens and adults to share their gifts, get out of their comfort zones, and serve others, changing God's world one person at a time.
St. Patrick youth will be hosting a pasta dinner in September to thank all their shareholders and supporters and also to invite any new teens and adults from various parishes to encourage them to be part of this spiritual opportunity. We plan to show the camp summary video of our amazing trip also. For more information, pictures, and teen witness, go to http://www.heartworkcamp.com or call Karen Bartos, Office of Religious Education at 330.534.8304.
